I am a very well qualified Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor, having continued my studies to the highest, advanced academic level., completing my Professional Doctorate in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Brighton in 2017.

I have a developed a wide breadth of experience over the last 20 years, working within the profession and having been employed with a number of charitable counselling organisations, local government and an Employee Assistance Programme. I now work full time in private practice with my own caseload, and have set up and manage The West Street Counselling Centre, a professional, purposely designed Group Practice which provides facilities for a large team of colleagues.
I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist which means I work broadly from a relationship perspective, drawing upon all the major Counselling and Psychotherapy theoretical frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to meet the needs of each individual client. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing) a treatment for clients who have experienced trauma. More information about EMDR can be found at EMDR UK & Ireland
My Professional Body is the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) with whom I hold Registered Senior Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist membership and an obligation to work within the their code of practice known as The Ethical Framework. I am also a member of Hampshire Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (HACP) and EMDR Association UK.
Continued Professional Development
I regularly undertake further learning in the form of workshops and seminars, with a view to maintaining continued professional development. In 2017, I completed a Professional Doctorate in Counselling & Psychotherapy at The University of Brighton and have an avid interest in research.
Having undertaken training with Cascade, I hold a diploma in group and individual supervision and offer clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists. My approach is Integrative, providing a creative, safe environment for personal and professional reflection. Clinical supervision can be arranged to meet the needs of the individual or group.
I hold in a keen interest in research and provide academic supervision at al levels of Counselling & Psychotherapy training. I can offer students support with academic writing including essays, assignments, dissertations and BACP accreditation applications. Academic supervision can be a tailored to meet the requirements of the individual.
